For those of you who have been following the long overdue iPhone Canadian release, there may yet be hope.
Andrew Regalson got his hands on a “leaked” Rogers flyer with a “Canadian release date” for the iPhone on January 18, 2008! Sounds too good to be true? It may yet be…
There have been a few false starts in the last couple months: someone had created a completely different (and fake) iPhone ad for Rogers and posted it boygenius.com, Molsons had mistakenly listed an iPhone as one of their upcoming prizes in Canada, and then the Apple store in Toronto had accidentally posted an iPhone seminar for their downtown store on November 10.
Many don’t think the iPhone will actually arrive in Canada because there’s a copyright/trademark dispute: someone other than Apple owns the name “iPhone” in Canada. And then there’s the much-debated data plan dispute: Apple wants it’s iPhone customers to have unlimited (and affordable) data plans to take full advantage of the iPhone, but that’s something that Rogers isn’t supporting.
Honestly, I think anything can happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ad posted by Andrew Regalson were real. On the other hand, Canada doesn’t really rack up there as one of Apple’s largest markets: I’m sure Apple will move through Europe and Asia before Apple sets it’s sights on Canada. Just compare the population of any Europe capital to that of Edmonton or even Vancouver/Toronto? Either way, I’m prepared to wait.

Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 1 PM, we have a special Release Event on tap for the latest Star Wars Minis set, “Force Unleashed“!
Please register in advance, though we will still take admissions up until 12:50.
Make sure you show up early- and please bring: A. dice, B. damage counters, and C.$50 for entry!
Format:
*You will receive two packs of “Force Unleashed“
*Your goal is to construct an army of 150 points or less using only the characters that you get from your two booster packs; we will not be using any faction rules. So, all affiliations can be used together/mixed.
*3-4 rounds of Swiss-Style play depending on how many people are present. I’d like to do a “Finals” round where the top undefeated players will face off, but we’ll see if we have time for that. Each round will be 50 minutes long.
*We’ll be using the Gambit scenario.
*Prizes: Top 15 players will get exclusive Squad Boxes! Booster packs or gift certificates will be given out depending on how many people enter.
Hope to see everyone there!
Our shipment will arrive on Friday, November 16. If you’d like to buy a few packs/cases and see the figures before the event, just let me know how many you’d like me to save for you.

Our prize package just came in today- as participation prizes: everyone will get the exclusive BFC card and the new Map! I’ll still working on getting a few more boosters for prizes, but we’ll have to see how that turns out. If we’re not able to have the boosters onhand at the Pre-Release, I’ll give out a gift certificate to 1st Place and Best Sportsman.

Honestly, I’ve never had any desire to play an accordion, but this game may change that. It even comes with really cool accordion stickers! Look out “Guitar Hero“! =)

** UPDATE: **On Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 1 PM we will be hosting a “150 Point Armies: HUGES ONLY” Event for Star Wars Minis! We were going to host 200 point, but too many people said they didn’t have enough huge characters.
