Some people have televisions, radios and/or phones in bathrooms, but now through the magic of technology, you can have all three one in tiny device: the iCarta stereo dock with tissue holder! Listen to/watch/recharge your iPhone/iPod while you’re doing your business!

To tell the truth, it does look pretty slick.  It has moisture resistant speakers (a must!) and get this: the speakers are actually the arms that hold toilet tissue! I just wonder if having something like this in a public washroom is such a good idea. I mean how clean would it be if everyone “handled” it while dropping a deuce?

Anyways, don’t be surprised if you find it in the store washroom (I
m such a sucker for gadgets!)…. I’ll just keep a box of sanitary wipes onhand.

It’s funny how the simplest games become your favourite. I’ve purchased: “Super Smash: Brawl“, “Mario Kart Wii“, and “Zedla: The Twilight Princess“; yet the I still play all the time is: “Wii Sports“.

So when Nintendo announced a sequel, “Wii Sports Resort” due out Spring 2009, I was all over it! WSR will feature 3 games: Sword Play, Jet-Ski Power Cruising, and Disc Dog (a frisbee game)!

The game is going to come packaged with their new “MotionPlus” sensor- a small add-on that clicks onto the bottom of the WiiMote. Not sure if you’ve noticed this as well, but some wii games (yes, even my beloved “Wii Sports“) don’t pick-up all of the movement that you’d expect them to; for example, if you’ve played any amount of Wii Boxing, then you’ll know what I mean. But, the MotionPlus add-on promises a 1:1 movement support. So, no matter how quick you stab your opponent (in Sword Play) or how hard you throw that frisbee (Disc Dog), the MotionPlus will register that movement.

One thing to note: I don’t think the MotionPlus is backwards compatible, meaning MotionPlus won’t be supported by the Wii games that have already been released- which is fine by me, I still love bowling, baseball and tennis on “Wii Sports“!

Rogers has announced their iPhone plans and they’re not going to be cheap =(

iPhone Package

In addition to the relatively high price for their minutes and data plan, Rogers wants an extra $15 per month for Caller ID. Couple that with their System Access Fee of $6.95 CAN (?) and then add GST on top of that and the lowest iPhone plan will approach $90 CAN per month. Ouch!
I’m still not sure if I want an iPhone that badly, but if any of you do, please keep in mind that there are limited quantities at each Rogers location. And that you will have to activate the phone when you purchase it.
I guess my options are either: suck it up and pay the $299 CAN for the 3G iPhone (16 GB) and the $90 CAN monthly fee or purchase a 2G iPhone on eBay or craigslist and go on a pay-as-you-go plan. I’ll have to decide before Friday, July 11. Decisions, decisions…

Diablo 3!

Talk about on a roll! The good people at Blizzard Entertainment, makers of classic computer games like Starcraft, Diablo 1+2, Warcraft 1+2+3 and World Of Warcraft, have announced their latest project: Diablo 3!

There’s no eta on this one, folks- in fact, Blizzard has two big games coming out later this year: “Starcraft 2” and “World Of Warcraft: Wrath Of The Lich King” which should keep all of us busy for a long time.

Check out the cinematic and ingame footage here:

Dark Knight!

Only 17 more days until “The Dark Knight“, the new Batman movie, arrives in theatres!

That’s rights, folks- mark Friday, July 18 on your calendars for one of the biggest movies of the summer! Cristian Bale, Morgan Freeman, and Heath Ledger star in this big-budget extravaganza. The story picks up right where “Batman Begins” left off; the introduction of the Joker!

Thanks to Jordan for sending me this link:

It’s gotta be the best Batman-movie site I’ve seen. Check it and the movie out!

New DCI Restricted Cards!

As Of June 20, 2008 the following cards will be restricted in Vintage (Type 1) events:*Brainstorm*Flash

*Gush

*Merchant Scroll

*Ponder

Gush” and “Merchant Scroll” are no stranger to the Vintage (Type 1) Restricted List- in fact, didn’t WOTC just unrestrict “Gush” a little while ago? Anyways, this is the official list and thanks to Andrew for the heads up! By the way, Andrew says that WOTC’s Gatherer hasn’t been updated, so if you use the Gatherer to determine whetther or not a card is restricted or banned when you’re making a deck, the Gatherer won’t have the most current banned and restricted list.

D&D

Curious about what they’ve changed in 4th edition?

I am too!

We’ve just received an adventure from Wizards Of The Coast with special “quickstart” rules for 4th edition, “Keep On the Shadowfell“. For those of you who would like to try and are able to preorder the 4th edition giftset (1 Player’s Handbook + 1 Dungeon Master Guide + 1 Monster Manual), we’ll be running special game demos in June.

Here’s hoping that they will have the 3G iPhone available in Canada and that Rogers’ data plans will be more affordable.

No firm eta or release date, but at least it’ll be out sometime this year, kids!
